Hash Brown Casserole

From my former mother-in-law.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup margarine, melted 
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup 
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 
  • 2 cups corn flakes
  • 1 pkg. (32 oz.) frozen hash browns, thawed

Instructions

Combine potatoes, ½ cup margarine, onion, soup, sour cream and cheese.  Stir well.  Spoon into greased 2 ½ quart casserole dish.  Crush cereal and stir in remaining margarine.  Put on top.  Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
